Neurofeedback training is a natural process with no side effects, allowing you to continue your medication regimen.

Our goal is to work with you and your prescribing physician over time to determine whether, based on your results, you may be able to reduce or eliminate medications.

Yes. In the same way you learned a new skill like riding a bicycle, our patients finish their treatment regimen and do not typically need to return. However, there is no end to the total improvement that can be achieved using this training.

Neuroplasticity remains viable during our whole lifetime. Some people come in later for a “tune-up” or to increase their brain`s efficiency.

Contact our office or call us at 630-254-0766 to set up an appointment for a free initial evaluation. During the initial visit, we will answer basic questions regarding neurofeedback.
Dr. Kristin Klocko, PharmD, R.Ph, PScD, CHCP, will discuss your concerns and symptoms and determine whether neurofeedback training may be appropriate for your unique situation.
If you agree that neurofeedback is a good fit for you, the next step is to get a brain map or qEEG. This test is painless and takes about 30 minutes to complete. It gives us a baseline, and the results are used to set up your personalized training protocol to address the symptoms you are experiencing.

If you plan to participate in neurofeedback training, an initial brain map or Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG) is needed. Think of it as a “brain fitness evaluation.”
The results are used to create your personalized training protocol. It is painless and consists of wearing a cap with sensors on it. The process takes about 30 minutes. It assesses the four basic brainwaves to see what areas of your brain may be helped by bringing them into balance.

What happens during a normal neurofeedback session?2024-08-21T10:14:04-04:00

After the brain map is done, we will design a training protocol to help you exercise your brain.

Most appointments last about 20-30 minutes and involve a relaxing session watching a video or movie that you get to pick out while wearing a few electronic sensors on your scalp. A specialized set of photic-entrainment glasses are also utilized in most cases.

Many of our patients choose to do neurofeedback training in the comfort of their own home using one of our home training devices and their own Window’s laptop.

Most patients notice begin to see improvements after 6-20 sessions. Some patients tell us the very first thing they notice is the ability to get a really good night’s sleep.

No. Neurofeedback training sessions are designed to help you develop new, more efficient neural pathways that are in balance.

It can help you be calmer, more resilient to stress, and more focused and attentive. Depending on your symptoms, it can also reduce or eliminate the need for medication.

It will not change your hobbies, interests, or who you are. It will just make being you easier!
